Visual Automation, Inc. today releases Secure Desktop 6.80 with new Internet Explorer 6 features and iLock for Mozilla Firefox 1.5.

The Browser is the Desktop

Secure Desktop 6 plus Firefox 1.5 or Internet Explorer 6 is simply the best way to create a browser-based desktop system for factory automation, retail point-of-sale, hospitality kiosks, libraries, museums, schools, labs, and cafes. Anywhere a browser-based desktop is needed, Secure Desktop 6 provides the right solution.

Secure Desktop 6

Previous versions of Secure Desktop had some Internet Explorer functionality, but version 6.80 truly makes Internet Explorer kiosk-ready. These new features provide the functionality to lock down the Internet Explorer browser environment for use in a kiosk situation.

Easily Disable Keyboard Shortcuts, Menus, Toolbars, and Protocols

Secure Desktop 6 makes it easy to run Internet Explorer or Firefox in Full Screen mode (F11), while disabling functionality that is not directly related to browsing the internet.

Automatically Delete Private Data

If the browser is not on the home page after x number of minutes, you can re-start IE or Firefox and delete all private data automatically. Private data is also deleted whenever Firefox is closed, or when IE is closed and automatically re-started.

Availability and Pricing

Secure Desktop, including iLock, is available direct from Visual Automation, Inc. or any of its authorized resellers at the list price of $195 USD, 5-pack of $700, and 10-pack of $1,275 immediately. Online purchasing is available via our online reseller Kagi at visualautomation.com.
