Secure Desktop 6.86 versus 7.00

Secure Desktop 7 represents our single biggest re-design, largely due to native support of Windows Vista. It was necessary to change how we store the Secure Desktop configuration data, how registry modifications are made, and even Secure Desktop help. Because of these changes, we have taken this opportunity to re-design the user interface, re-name product files, and change icon launching. We even dropped a few features.

We are very excited about this new version. It's easier to use, better looking, and the best user experience yet.

If you are an existing customer moving from a previous version of Secure Desktop to version 7, we strongly advise that you completely re-test your use of Secure Desktop. Secure Desktop 7 will automatically migrate your ini configuration files to the new sDesktop.xml file. However, with so many changes, it's very important to re-test your configuration, especially in a mission-critical environment. If you do not have time to do this when you first receive Secure Desktop 7, please use version 6.85, included with version 7.

The following table represents the changes from version 6.85 to version 7. Please read this carefully.
